PRIVACY POLICY
Effective: September 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how The Bacon Bin ("The Bacon Bin," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal information when you use thebaconbin.com, create an account, join an email list, use Collector Journal features, or place an order.
Sources and categories of information
We collect information directly from you when you create an account, contact us, join an email list, save preferences, use Collector Journal features or place an order. We also receive limited transaction/account information from WooCommerce and payment, shipping or technical service providers, and collect ordinary device/security information automatically when your browser communicates with the site.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect contact information (such as name, email, billing/shipping address and phone number), account information (email, nickname, avatar and account identifiers), order and transaction information, wishlist and preference information, waitlist/newsletter choices, customer-service communications, Collector Journal notes/photos, and technical information such as IP address, browser/device information, timestamps and security/abuse logs.
Payment information
Checkout is handled through WordPress/WooCommerce and enabled payment providers. Payment-card or wallet fields presented by a payment provider are processed by that provider. The custom Bacon Bin storefront is not designed to store full payment-card numbers in its local browser storage or static site files.
Cookies and browser storage
The site uses cookies, WooCommerce session data and browser storage where needed for shopping-cart state, account sessions, security, wishlist/recently-viewed features, interface preferences, language/motion settings and similar functionality. These technologies help the site remember your selections and operate correctly. We do not currently run an advertising-cookie or cross-site behavioral-advertising program on the custom storefront. See our Cookie Notice for more detail.
How we use information
We use personal information to provide and fulfill orders; manage accounts, carts, wishlists and Collector Journal features; send transactional messages; provide requested marketing or waitlist notices; prevent fraud, spam and abuse; troubleshoot and secure the service; comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations; enforce our policies; and improve store operations.
How information is disclosed
We may provide information to service providers that perform functions for the store, such as hosting, ecommerce/order processing, payment processing, email delivery, shipping, security, backup and technical support. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, to investigate fraud or abuse, or in connection with a legitimate business transfer. Service providers receive information only as reasonably needed for their role.
No sale of personal information
We do not currently sell personal information for money, and the custom storefront is not configured to share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If our practices materially change, this policy and any legally required controls will be updated before the change applies.
External images and links
Some product photos may be delivered from external marketplace image hosts. When your browser loads an externally hosted image, that host can receive ordinary request information such as your IP address and browser details. Links to third-party sites and payment services are governed by those providers' own privacy practices. The BITS news feed is fetched by the server rather than directly loading publisher pages in your browser.
Collector Journal and public sharing
Collector Journal entries are private by default. If you explicitly mark an entry public, the selected note, photos, nickname and avatar may be displayed publicly in the product's Collector Showcase. You can make an entry private again or remove the entry/photos using the available account controls. Public information may remain temporarily in caches or backups after removal.
Email and marketing choices
If you ask to receive marketing, waitlist or release emails, we use the email address and preferences you provide for those purposes. You can unsubscribe from marketing through the available unsubscribe/preference tools or by contacting us. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent transactional messages about orders, account security or customer-service requests.
Data retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above and for legal, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention and dispute-resolution needs. Retention depends on the type of information: order records may need to be kept for statutory/accounting periods; account data is generally kept while an account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward; marketing preferences are kept as needed to honor subscriptions and suppression/unsubscribe requests; and operational logs are kept for limited periods appropriate to security and troubleshooting.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information, including HTTPS, WordPress authentication, access controls, request validation, rate limiting, bot/spam controls, restricted storage for private Collector Journal uploads, and security-focused response headers on the custom storefront. Payment credentials entered into provider-controlled payment fields are handled by the payment provider rather than stored by the custom storefront. No Internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a unique password and protect access to your account and email. See our Security page for reporting information.
U.S. state privacy rights and Global Privacy Control
Residents of certain U.S. states may have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, portability, targeted advertising, sale or sharing of personal information, and appeals, subject to legal thresholds and exceptions. The Bacon Bin does not currently sell personal information for money or use the custom storefront for cross-context behavioral advertising. We therefore do not treat ordinary browsing as a sale or targeted-advertising opt-in. Where a legally recognized Global Privacy Control signal applies, our current no-sale/no-targeted-advertising configuration is consistent with that preference.
International visitors
If privacy law in your location gives you additional rights, we will handle verified requests as required by applicable law. Depending on the service and jurisdiction, processing may be based on performing a transaction or contract with you, complying with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the store, or your consent where consent is required. Because The Bacon Bin operates from the United States, information may be processed in the United States and other places where service providers operate.
Your privacy choices and requests
Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of certain personal information, or to object to certain uses. You may also request account deletion or ask questions about our practices through our secure contact form. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Where applicable law provides an appeal right, you may appeal a denied privacy request by replying to our decision and stating that you are requesting an appeal.
Children's privacy
The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, vendors or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top will be updated when material revisions are posted.

Privacy questions and requests can be sent through our secure contact form. The Bacon Bin operates from Georgia, United States.
